Belantara Foundation Holds a Forum Group Discussion to Delve into its Communication Strategy

To recognize the grasp, knowledge, and expectations of stakeholders, Belantara Foundation held a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) in a hotel in Pekanbaru, on Friday, February 15, 2019.

The FGD was also attended by the Environment and Forestry Agency of Riau Province, the Chief of Temiang Village (Bandar Laksamana Sub-district, Bengkalis Regency), Riau FKKM, various NGOs and a number of media.

In the FGD, Belantara Foundation's Executive Director, Dr. Sri Mariati, emphasized on the importance of a communication strategy in communicating all Belantara Foundation's strategic and supporting programs to achieve the Foundation's vision, mission and strategic plans that have been made for the next two years. "A communication strategy for 2019 to perform conservation, restoration, and community empowerment is needed, as it is Belantara Foundation's responsibility towards the mandate given by our donors in helping human life and nature sustainably," said Dr. Sri Mariati.

The FGD also aims to determine the extent of the effectiveness of implemented communications between the Belantara Foundation and stakeholders so far.

Belantara Foundation strives to provide the best performance to achieve developing large-scale ecosystem conservation in several regions of Sumatra and Kalimantan.

Staying on its course, Belantara Foundation is currently still focused on channeling and developing grant funds for conservation, restoration, protection of endangers species, and community development in ten grant areas in five provinces on the islands of Sumatra and Kalimantan.
