Agus Purnomo

Agus Purnomo is Director of Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology (SMART), Indonesia.

Previously, Mr. Purnomo served as Special Assistant to the President of Indonesia for Climate Change from 2010 to 2014. He also held the position of Special Assistant to the Minister of Environment and Head of the Indonesian Delegation in five of the six United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiation meetings.

Prior to his government appointments, Mr. Purnomo was Executive Director of World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Indonesia from 2004 to 2009; Executive Director of Pelangi Indonesia, a policy research institute, from 1996 to 2003; and Executive Director of the Indonesian Forum for the Environment from 1992 to 1996.

Mr. Purnomo holds an MBA from Prasetya Mulya Management Institute in Jakarta and an MA from the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy at Tufts University in the US.
