About a month ago, in early February 2018, Belantara Foundation’s Conservation team along with the Betabuh Tigapuluh Consortium visited eight villages in Indragiri Hulu district and Kuantan Singigi district, Riau Province as a ground check agenda at the Bukit Tigapuluh National Park grant area.

On the sidelines of the conservation team visit, the monitoring and evaluation team, as well as other technical teams used the opportunity to have technical discussions at one of the fascinating waterfalls in Bukit TIgapuluh National Park. This activity aims to ensure the fundamentals, such as the work area/the conservation program management unit, pre-conditinal program preparations, and to confirm the location limits for protection, restoration, and community empowerment activities.

The next step of this activity is to make recommendations and to complete pre-condition data, such as letters of recognition from the landowners and a permit from Bukit Tigapuluh National Park as an area that will be used for community empowerment activities.
